theyeticoolers.com is an independent Amazon Associates review lab about one product class: YETI hard coolers. It is not YETI, not yeti.com, and not Amazon. One named person does the testing and signs the pages.

Who tests

I am Marion Tucker. I grew up camping, kayaking and canoeing in the Twin Cities, guided in the Northwoods, and I have spent years backpacking, paddling and climbing — the Wind River Range, and alpine routes on New Zealand's South Island. I shoot motion-picture and still photography, and I live out of a van on camp weekends from Nashville, Tennessee.

I have field-tested every YETI cooler in the hard-cooler class. That means I have loaded them, opened them at camp, carried the ones worth carrying, and formed opinions about which job each one fits. It does not mean I have weighed the ice.

Drinkware is not part of this. Ramblers, tumblers and bottles are a different product class and I do not review them here.

How I test

The named method is ice mass against calendar days under a fixed lid-open routine. The protocol page describes the instruments and the controls, and it shows an empty results table — because I have not logged a run yet. See the method.

Until that log exists, every ice number on this site belongs to somebody else. When a page gives a day-count, it names the lab that produced it and links to their write-up. That is a deliberate choice: an unlabelled number is worth nothing to you.

What you can hold me to

• First person means field use, never a measurement I did not take.
• Every borrowed number is credited to its source, in view, with a link.
• Manufacturer claims are labelled as claims, not as findings.
• Product images are illustrations. No picture here pretends to be proof of a test.
• No page states an Amazon price or star rating. Those live on Amazon, where they stay current.

Why this lab exists

To help you choose or skip a YETI cooler for keeping ice through a 2–3 day camp or hunt weekend, then open the right product page. The constraint that decides most purchases is whether one person has to carry the cooler far from a vehicle. Most reviews bury that.

What this lab will not cover

YETI drinkware. Coupon, sale and Prime Day posts. Other cooler brands as roundups — they appear by name in copy when relevant, and nothing more. Custom or personalised coolers. Wheeled models and tailgate gear get one handoff sentence. No food-safety, wildlife-baiting or medical claims appear anywhere on this site.
